About the artist: A Bay Area painter, printmaker, and designer Calvin Anderson was both a commercial art director and teacher. Student of Art Center College in Los Angeles, his early illustrations and advertising designs offered him the ability to study abstract painting in his personal studio. His colorful compositions show an awareness and fondness for Modern Art- especially Abstract Expressionism. In his later years, Calvin began a study of printmaking which he did for his own enjoyment. A prolific artist, his body of work includes painting, sketches, advertising posters, and prints.
